Gary Koncewicz Obituary - 2023 (2024)

KONCEWICZ, Gary, passed away suddenly on June 30, 2023, at the age of 53. 53 years is too short but Gary managed to fill it with so many laughs, caring smiles and about one million dad jokes. Gary was an avid Phillies fan (as demonstrated by his favorite pajama pants) and known to his family as the number one consumer of ESPN news. He was always happy, always smiling and quick with a joke, a twinkle in his eye and an exaggerated wink for effect. Gary worked as a nurse at Cooper and Virtua for over 25 years. He was known for his kind and caring nature and could be found working on and off the clock helping anyone and everyone who needed assistance. Gary was the epitome of a Good Samaritan. He loved doing fun things with his four children - especially loved taking them to amusem*nt parks going to play mini-golf and to the beach…Gary loved boogie boarding in the ocean! He was a devout Catholic and rarely missed a 7:30 mass on a Sunday morning. Gary loved life and he will be missed by his family and friends everywhere - but maybe especially at Wawa where he went every morning to get coffee for him and Nic.

He is survived by many family and friends; these are the ones who loved him most - He is the beloved husband of Nicole (Nee Wilson) Koncewicz, amazing and loving father of Gabrielle, Brady, Cooper and Karli. Devoted son of Mary (nee Berckman) Koncewicz and the late Robert. Dear brother of Robert Koncewicz, Jr., Diane Sharkey and her husband, Bill and John Koncewicz. He is also lovingly survived by his nieces and nephews; Will, Delanie and Brenna Sharkey, Michael McKenty, Brooke Coskery, Tyler Coskery and his wife, Miranda, Ryan McKenty and his wife, Madison and his sisters in law, Paige and her husband, Bryan Coskery and Lori McKenty. Gary was preceded in death by his loving mother and father in law, Mary and Richard "Whip" Wilson. He loved dearly his pups; Stella, Riley and Hank and 3 who aren't with us anymore, Phoebe, Maggie and Zoe.

Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Saturday July 8, from 10-12:45pm at St. Mary of the Lakes Church 40 Jackson Road Meford NJ where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1pm Saturday July 8. Burial will take place at Park View Cemetery at Historic Medford Village, Medford NJ.
